Role Introduction

Yes Make is looking for an experienced Yard & Warehouse Manager to join our tight knit, friendly and highly driven team, taking responsibility for the development of, as well as day-to-day running, our reclaimed materials warehouse and yard at London’s largest circular economy construction hub Tipping Point East.

This is a practical, hands-on role for someone who enjoys keeping things moving, solving problems, creating systems and being at the heart of a busy and constantly evolving environment. You will take responsibility for the Warehouse Management System as well as our Material Reuse Assurance Processes covering flows of materials into and out of our site, ensuring that reclaimed materials are received, processed, catalogued, stored and prepared for their next use. 

This will involve understanding what materials we have, where they are stored, what condition they are in and how they can be made available to upcoming projects.

You will also directly manage and support the development of two Material Apprentices, who will assist with material handling, inventory, picking, processing, fulfilment and other tasks that support the flow of materials through the site.

Using reclaimed materials as our starting point we find creative ways to work across design, fabrication and installation, often taking projects from an initial idea through technical design and prototyping to workshop fabrication and final installation on site.

Yes Make’s work is hugely varied and our clients and projects range from community placemaking to major installations at some of London’s most significant cultural institutions and spaces.

Who We Are Looking For

Our team is a bunch of diverse problem solvers who work closely together but each person is also able to work independently, accepting the fluid nature of a start-up. We are looking for someone who not only can fit with that but wants to.

Communication will be important. You will work with people across the whole organisation, from apprentices and workshop staff to designers, project managers, site teams, suppliers and transport operators.

Most importantly, we are looking for someone who cares about materials and what happens to them. The role is central to our ambition to keep useful materials in circulation, and we want someone who is motivated by the opportunity to help build a more practical and efficient system for material reuse.
